Q: Please share any additional academic plans (dual degree, research focus, minor, specialization, etc.) you may be pursuing.
A: I am pursuing a specialization in Evaluation.
Q: Please tell us about your background and why you decided to come to the iSchool.
A: I have a background in art history, and I decided to come to the Museology program because I knew that I would be able to get a lot of hands-on experiences in museums, especially since I knew that I did not want to go into academia. It was also attractive to me that I knew I would be able to do meaningful work in the Seattle community often. I like that the program has a strong relationship with the museums and galleries in the area. It makes me feel like a professional!
Q: What excites you about the information field?
A: I really enjoy that everything I'm learning can be transferrable to so many fields outside of Museology! I'm comforted in knowing that I can be confident in exploring diverse job opportunities after I graduate.
Q: What about your iSchool journey thus far are you most proud of?
A: Honestly, I'm most proud of finishing my first autumn quarter! Graduate school has been a very big change for me, and things were a little rocky during the beginning. The resources like the iSchool Career Center and mental health counseling were invaluable to me during the adjustment process, and I couldn't have done it without the support and encouragement from the Museology faculty!
Q: What’s the best advice you have ever received?
A: "You can't do better than your best."
